Privacy policy

This policy explains how Royaltech Systems Limited (“we”) handles personal information collected through this website, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

You can browse this website without giving us any personal information. If you call or email us, we keep the details you give us (such as your name, phone number, email address and what you want to buy) so that we can respond to you.

If you sign in to generate an invoice, we also keep:

• your email address, which is your account (you sign in with a link we email you, so we do not store a password);
• a record of the sign-in link we sent (kept as a scrambled value, not the link itself) and of your signed-in session on each browser, which lapses after 30 days or when you sign out;
• your invoices: when each was made, the products, sizes, quantities and prices on it, and where it is in the process from payment to delivery.

Your shopping cart is kept in your own browser. It is sent to us only when you press “Generate Payment Invoice”. The delivery details you give (where the goods go, the name and phone number of the person receiving them, and any note for the courier) are also kept in your browser until then. When you press the button they are sent to us and kept with your invoice, and the browser's copy is deleted.

If you tell us you are not satisfied with an order, we ask for a phone number and keep it with your complaint and your invoice. Customer care uses it only to contact you about that order.

How we use it

We use your details only to answer your enquiry, prepare quotations and invoices, process orders and deliveries, and meet legal obligations. We use your email address to send your sign-in links and invoices, and to tell you about your order. We do not sell personal information. We keep invoices for as long as we need them to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set tracking cookies of its own. When you sign in it sets one cookie that keeps you signed in; it is needed for the sign-in to work, is not used to follow you around, and is removed when you sign out. If we add any other cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.

The site also keeps a few things in your browser's local storage so it can work: the products in your shopping cart, the delivery details you have given, the invoice you are waiting to confirm with the time it has left, and the countdown before a new sign-in link can be sent. They stay on your device, are not sent to us until you ask for an invoice or a sign-in link, and you can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us fulfil your order (for example couriers and our email provider, which delivers your sign-in links and invoices) and where the law requires it. We give a courier the delivery details of your order, and only those.

When the delivery page offers an address search, what you type in that search box is sent to Google (Google Maps Platform) to suggest addresses, together with the usual details a browser sends, and Google may set its own cookies for that. Nothing else on this site is sent to Google. You can ignore the search and type the address yourself.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email info@royaltechsystems.co.ke and we will respond promptly. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
